Polish company wins American competition ControlTrends Awards.

Global Control 5 S.A. Stand: C970

The Hybrid IoT controller from Global Control 5, iSMA-B-MAC36NL, was selected as the best product in the IoT Solution of the Year category at the American ControlTrends Awards Gala, held on February 2 in Orlando. It was the eighth edition of the competition, which awards and distinguishes the best in the building automation industry.

"Faith in our products has not disappointed me once again. It was an amazing evening, full of positive emotions and impressions. Our Hybrid IoT controller, iSMA-B-MAC36NL, has won the ControlTrends Awards in the IoT Solution of the Year category. My joy and satisfaction is all the greater because together with us, the biggest players in the industry fought for the title of the best. I congratulate them from the bottom of my heart, but I cannot hide my great joy that our iSMA-B-MAC36NL is number one in this year's CTA! I know that this award will have a very positive impact on the whole GC5 team and will make us look to the future with even more optimism.

Dear GC5 team, Distributors, ladies and gentlemen, this award is our common success. It is thanks to you, your votes, your trust in the iSMA products, the people who make them. We won this award and for that I want to thank you whole-heartedly!" - says Adam Półgrabia, CEO of Global Control 5.

And this is not the only reason for the employees to be proud of their company.

In October 2019, Global Control 5 ranked 39th in the Technology Fast 50 Central Europe ranking prepared by Deloitte. The aim of the project is to promote innovation, both among businesses with established position on the market, as well as smaller companies and startups. Company's rank is mainly based on the dynamics of operating revenues growth as well as innovative technology. The program is addressed to companies of all sizes and ages, located in the Central Europe. This was the 20th edition of the ranking, with as many as 11 Polish companies included in the finals.

"The appreciation of Global Control 5 in this ranking is the culmination of our work and achieved results. This success would not have been possible without the commitment and work of our employees and the trust our partners. I am proud of such a talented team and great partners. The recent awards mobilize us even more for further development" - adds Adam Półgrabia.

Separating this pandemic from predecessors is that information technology is firmly on our side. In the absence of sport, Netflix is keeping families entertained. FaceTime or Zoom are connecting us safely from a distance while ordinary socialising presents a risk. And a plethora of cloud-based workplace tools are channelling business productivity from newly-distributed workforces.

Nobody doubted our dependency on connectivity before coronavirus, but the degree to which the thread of the internet holding the fabric of society together during the crisis is striking. While restaurants, pubs, cinemas, cafes and more turned off their lights, data centres, network operations centres and internet exchanges geared up for an unprecedented rise in traffic.

The Covid-19 pandemic has led many companies to alter the way they conduct business, in many cases evolving to a new way of running operations. Some businesses have been fortunate where operating models have stayed in line with "Business as Usual". However, in most cases businesses have either had to adapt or evolve into a new operating model.

Information security and cyber defence teams have a challenge ahead of them, they will not only have to run normal day-to-day operations but now must understand the new threat vectors that are being introduced that widen the threat landscape, and work to minimise cyber risk so businesses stay protected.

  • "Smart IoT has helped bring together a community of practitioners to talk about IoT and intelligent edge, develop new ideas and create networks. Smart IoT differentiates itself through excellent speakers talking on relevant topics and the quality of the delegates. I think every conversation has been valuable. First time I have run out of business cards by 3pm!"

  • "The show is good, we were here last year and we’ve definitely been busier on our stand than we were. It’s been a good morning so far, it’s important for us to get across, not just our technology, but the company as a whole and we’re meeting with lots of different people from lots of different verticals so this is key. We’re already talking about about booking a stand for next year."
Regional Sales Director UK & Ireland, Telit
  • "We were looking for return on investment on our stand and activities at Smart IoT, so we set our targets of how many strong contacts we needed to make at the show. The teams at Closerstill Media and KTN really got behind us and we exceeded our targets."

  • "It’s our first time at the show – we’ve found it very illuminating – to see what the industry is doing and to see how fast the industry is moving. It’s enabled us to promote into new areas, into new people. And, still enabled us to have that understanding from the customer base of where Siemens is, and what we do and how we fit into the world of digitisation"
